EARLY ORTHODONTIC treatment

Early orthodontics is an early interceptive treatment to help grow young mouths in preparation for adult teeth. Sometimes, children require early orthodontics, also called Phase 1 treatment, to help create space to accommodate all of the permanent teeth. While not all young patients require it, this treatment provides the greatest opportunity to avoid extraction and prevent problems down the road.

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that every child visit an orthodontist by the age of 7. Dr. Eberle will examine your child while they have mixed dentition—some permanent and some primary teeth. Orthodontists like Dr. Eberle can help make the best decision about when to start orthodontic treatment for your child by examining the alignment of the teeth and jaw and observing your child’s bite.

Some children will benefit from early orthodontics and some children can wait until the teen years to begin treatment. Dr. Eberle is very conservative in her treatment planning, and will only recommend Phase 1 treatment with limited braces and/or palatal expansion if it is absolutely necessary. During her examination, she will check for bite issues such as an overbite, underbite or crossbite, if your child has enough room for all of their permanent teeth, that the jaw is developing properly and more.

Teen Orthodontic Treatment

Eberle Orthodontics provides comprehensive orthodontic treatment for kids between the ages of 11 and 18. At this age, all of the permanent teeth have erupted, or are close to erupting, and our team can begin treatment to address the aesthetics and function of your child’s smile. Depending on your teen’s unique orthodontic requirements, we offer traditional braces and Invisalign® clear aligners. Dr. Nicole Eberle and our experienced team look forward to meeting you and your teen!

We believe that every patient is unique and so are their orthodontic requirements, which is why we design personalized treatment plans for each patient, including teens. Your orthodontic treatment begins with a comprehensive and complimentary consultation. At this visit, we will take some X-rays and perform an examination of the mouth, teeth and bite. During this appointment, Dr. Eberle will discuss the treatments available with you and your teen. Options include traditional braces, clear braces and Invisalign clear aligners.

Adult Orthodontic Treatment

Believe it or not, 50% of our patients at Eberle Orthodontics are adults. We are pleased to offer several options for adults looking to improve the aesthetics, function and health of their smile. Adults patients may have had braces as a teenager. In these cases, orthodontic treatment can be a convenient way to enhance your appearance for both personal and professional reasons. We also welcome adults to our office who have never had any kind of orthodontic treatment. Both kinds of patients can experience the benefits of modern, comfortable and highly effective orthodontic technology.

As we age, our teeth shift and can become crowded and even crooked. This may seem like strictly a cosmetic concern, but crowded teeth are actually more difficult to brush and floss properly. Straight teeth perform a very important function: they evenly distribute the normal forces of chewing and biting. Teeth that are overly crowded are more susceptible to wear and tear, such as chipping, due to the unequal forces that can occur when chewing. Due to advancements in technology and modern orthodontic techniques, adults are more empowered than ever before to improve their oral health through orthodontic treatment

At Eberle Orthodontics, no matter what kind of appliance you choose, your treatment is completely customized to your smile and your lifestyle. We are pleased to provide a variety of treatment options for our adult patients including traditional braces, clear braces and Invisalign® clear aligners.
